My Name: Dr. Cherry K. Mattias

Dr. Mattias grew up in the San Joaquin Valley.  She spent her childhood riding her pony on the farmroads of Kings and Fresno Counties. She attended the University of Denver and Fresno State University where she majored in Animal Science and minored in Chemistry and Economics.  She earned her  Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University.  She has been a Feline only practitioner since her graduation in 2000.

Dr. Mattias has two married sons and two Grandchildren. She lives with her husband and their "menagarie". They have horses, mules, goats, chickens, dogs and cats.  Most recently they have added miniature donkeys to their family.  She enjoys horse camping in the Sierras and driving the little donkeys in a cart.  She loves to read and writes Noir short stories. She has written a mystery novel which she wrestles with periodically. She also raises honeybees and keeps a flower and vegetable garden.
